This week we caught up with Dorota Niemira, our Quality / Health & Safety Administrator. She told us about her life before working at Millers Oils and revealed her hidden talents.
Hey! I’m Dorota. I enjoy working at Millers Oils in the Quality and Health & Safety team, and I am always eager to learn new things. I have a background in teaching and a strong passion for quality improvement. I’m also a wife and a proud mum of one. In my free time, you’ll find me actively engaged with the Polish community, participating in cultural events and activities.
At Millers Oils, I serve as a Quality and Health & Safety Administrator. My role is to ensure that the company’s products meet high-quality standards while adhering to safety regulations and procedures to create a safe working environment. I oversee quality control processes, conduct safety audits, and collaborate closely with various departments such as Production, Logistics, Labelling, Product & Technical, and the Laboratory to identify areas for improvement. It’s a dynamic role that allows me to contribute to both the operational efficiency of the company and the well-being of our team.
The best part of my job is definitely the contact with people. I enjoy collaborating with different teams and departments, from production to logistics, and working together to improve processes. Building relationships with colleagues, providing support, and sharing knowledge helps to create a positive and productive environment. It’s rewarding to see how effective communication and teamwork can make a real difference in quality and safety outcomes.
If I wasn’t in this role, I believe I would still be in teaching. I have a passion for sharing knowledge and helping others learn, whether it’s in a classroom setting or through training and development. Teaching allowed me to connect with people, motivate them, and make a positive impact on their growth. I’ve always enjoyed working in environments where I can inspire and support others to achieve their potential.
My favourite thing to do outside of work is spending time with my family. Whether we’re enjoying a quiet evening at home or going on adventures together, those moments are always special. Family is a big part of my life, and I cherish the time we get to share, making memories and supporting one another.
I do have a few hidden talents! I’m a singer, and I also play the ukulele. Music has always been a big part of my life, and I love expressing myself through it. Additionally, I enjoy dancing, which is a great way for me to unwind and have fun. It’s always nice to have creative outlets outside of work!
One thing I want to achieve is expanding my knowledge and expertise in quality management, particularly with ISO standards and environmental practices. I’m passionate about continually improving quality processes, and it would be exciting to be involved in a large-scale project that challenges me to apply and grow my skills in this area. Being part of such a project would be a great way to make a significant impact while furthering my professional development.
