A Year of High-Performance Partnership – MINI CHALLENGE

The countdown is on. The MINI CHALLENGE returns next week! That means we’re also celebrating one year as the Official Lubricants Partner of the series. Our shared passion for performance, precision, and pushing boundaries has made this partnership a perfect match, and we’re excited to take things even further in year two. But before we hit the track again, let’s take a look back at some of the highlights of our first season together.

Our Partnership with the MINI CHALLENGE

From the very first race of the 2024 season, Millers Oils has been at the heart of the MINI CHALLENGE action. Announced just as the Cooper category kicked off its season, our involvement in the MINI CHALLENGE goes beyond branding; it’s about delivering tangible performance benefits. The multi-year partnership ensures that every MINI in the championship, across the JCW, JCW Sport and Cooper classes, benefits from our cutting-edge lubricants.

Challenger by Millers Oils

At the core of our partnership is ‘Challenger by Millers Oils’, a range of engine and gear oils, engineered specifically for track-ready MINIs. Developed with our extensive motorsport expertise, this high-performance line of lubricants is designed to withstand the extreme demands of competitive racing, ensuring maximum engine protection, reduced friction, and optimal power output. Whether its race day or a crucial free practice session, the Challenger range provides MINI CHALLENGE drivers with the confidence that their MINIs are protected and performing at their peak, offering the performance and reliability needed to chase victory.

Season Highlights

The MINI CHALLENGE is known for its close competition, and being a great stepping stone for future motorsport stars, aligning with our commitment to performance and passion for people. Throughout the season, drivers and teams faced tough technical challenges as well as demanding circuits, and unpredictable conditions. But thanks to our cutting-edge lubricant technology, they were able to push their MINIs to the max.

Our brand ambassador Hannah Chapman made a strong return to the track in 2024. Impressing in the JCW Sport sustainable fuel development car at Donington Park, and Knockhill where she secured a Race 3 victory. However, due to her invitational status, she was ineligible for championship points.

Dan Zelos secured a record-breaking third MINI CHALLENGE title after a dramatic weekend at Knockhill. A driveshaft failure for Max Hall in the final race opened the door for Zelos to wrap up the championship early, needing just 25 points to seal the deal.

With the champion already crowned, the focus at Brands Hatch shifted to the battle for second place. Going into the weekend, Max Hall held a narrow lead, but with 5 drivers all within 14 points, the fight remained wide open. In the end, Max Hall secured second place, while Nathan Edwards claimed third, closing out an intense season.

The Challenger Scheme

At Millers Oils, we’re dedicated to more than just supporting the series, we’re investing in the next generation of racing talent. That’s why we launched the Challenger Scheme, offering support for a promising driver’s entry into the 2025 MINI CHALLENGE JCW class. This initiative not only helps rising stars but also strengthens our presence in motorsport, reinforcing our commitment to the sport’s future.

Open to all registered JCW drivers, four finalists and one wildcard were shortlisted. Earlier this month we hosted an exclusive event at The University of Derby, where the selected drivers joined students and partners for a day of motorsport insight and skill evaluation. The selection process was intense, with promising young drivers battling for a chance to win. Read about it here.
