Four champions were crowned across the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and Ginetta Junior Championship during an action-packed season finale weekend at Brands Hatch (23/24 October).
A thrilling season of Ginetta racing alongside the British Touring Car Championship came to an end with six entertaining races in front of a huge trackside crowd around the Kent venue’s world-famous Grand Prix circuit.
Of the three drivers in contention for the overall GT4 SuperCup honours heading into the weekend it was Adam Smalley who would go on to wrap up the title with a pair of top six results in the opening races. He then finished the season with a flourish as he scored a race three podium.
Josh Rattican grabbed the runners up spot in the standings from Tom Hibbert with a superb podium hat-trick over the weekend, while there was further joy for the teams’ champions Elite Motorsport as Tom Emson picked up a maiden overall win.
It was James Kellett who had dominated most of the weekend meanwhile, recording a brilliant pole position and two race wins in only his second appearance in the series. Carlito Miracco also ended the year on a high with a couple of top three finishes.
In the championship’s Pro Am class, Colin White successfully defended his title to make history as the first ever four-time Ginetta class champion. He scored a 17th win of the year at Brands Hatch, with runner-up Carl Garnett also enjoying a finale victory.
In Ginetta Juniors, Aston Millar was crowned as champion in perfect fashion with the first two race wins of the weekend. His chief challenger for the title Liam McNeilly then confirmed his runner up status with the last victory of the season.
Competing in his Millers Oils branded Ginetta G40, Robert de Haan impressively ended his scholarship year as the rookie champion and fourth overall in the points. Callum Voisin and Josh Rowledge finished up as the next best of the first year contenders.
