Meet the Team – Ieva Mirijauske – Logistics Coordinator

With over a decade at Millers Oils, progressing through several roles, Ieva is a key part of our logistics operation, ensuring every shipment leaves on time and every delivery runs smoothly. She shares her journey, and which of her famous bakes is a hit with the Millers Oils team!

Tell us about yourself.

I’m originally from Lithuania but have been living in the UK since 2012. I started at Millers Oils 11 years ago as Production Operative, later moved on Production Planning Assistant, and now I’m Logistics Coordinator.

Tell us about your role at Millers Oils.

Mainly focusing on shipment scheduling, transportation tracking and ensuring timely deliveries. My focus has always been on optimising the movement of goods – from warehouse dispatch to final delivery – while maintaining clear communication with drivers and warehouse teams. I also collaborate closely with production planning to make sure our wagons are fully utilised before dispatch.

What has been the highlight of your time at Millers Oils so far?

The highlight has definitely been the collaboration with different departments to make sure our shipments are optimised. It’s rewarding to see how that teamwork translates into fewer delays, better wagon utilisation, and smoother operations overall.

What does a typical day look like for you?

My start and finish time is slightly different than others, I start at 7:45 and finish at 14:45. In the morning, my role is very busy. I start by creating the loads and jobs for the warehouse team, making sure all delivery notes are ready and that any additional orders are added to the wagons before dispatch. I also handle logistics emails, check that all the essential information is included on delivery notes, and coordinate with production planning if any adjustments are needed. It’s a fast–paced environment, and the time goes quickly because there is always something happening – I really enjoy keeping everything organised and running on schedule.

If you weren’t in this job, what would you be doing?

I have a bachelor’s degree in Ecology, so I would probably work in an environmental agency or in similar job.

What is your go-to breakfast at work?

I usually choose meals that are quick and healthy so I can stay focused at work, for a breakfast, something like eggs, porridge or yogurt works well.

What would we most likely find you doing at the weekend?

On the weekends, I usually spend time recharging and pursuing personal interests. I enjoy activities like hiking, walking the dog in the fields, socialising with friends and family. I do also lots of housework.

Do you have any hidden talents or skills that we might not know about?

I love cooking and a bit of baking (everyone in Millers Oils knows my banana bread). I also like gardening a lot. During the summer, I grow my own vegetables and plant a variety of flowers – it’s a great way to relax and spend time outdoors.
