Advanced oils, lubricants and treatments since 1887
Following a brilliant start to the 2021 Ginetta race season at Thruxton last month, the action continues this weekend with the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and Ginetta Junior Championship contesting three races each at Snetterton (12/13 June).
This weekend will be the long-awaited season opener for the GT4 SuperCup, for which Millers Oils remains as headline sponsor for a third consecutive year as part of the continued technical partnership with Ginetta, whilst the Juniors will be tackling their second meeting of the year.
A packed grid of 355bhp, 150mph Ginetta G55’s are set to battle it out in the GT4 SuperCup – all fuelled by the exclusive ‘Ginetta Tech by Millers Oils’ range of lubricants. A two class format, Pro and Pro Am, promises to produce exciting racing throughout the 21 car entry.
Two of the leading names from last year are back for a title challenge; 11-time race winner Tom Hibbert and former Junior champion Adam Smalley. Amongst their competition will be fellow returnees Joe Marshall, Luke Reade and Reece Somerfield, plus 2020 Juniors front-runner Josh Rattican.
Tom Emson steps up to the Pro class meanwhile after securing 11 Pro Am wins last year. That class features two reigning champions from 2020, Colin White (Pro Am) and Stewart Lines (Am), plus Am class race-winners Carl Garnett and Daniel Morris.
The Juniors season opener at Thruxton hinted at another close fought and hugely competitive year of racing. From the 27 car grid, it was R Racing team-mates Tom Edgar and Callum Voisin who scored the opening race wins, the latter in his first ever weekend of car-racing.
Seb Hopkins is the early points leader though after taking a double podium finish, whilst Josh Miller, Aston Millar, Josh Rowledge and Robert de Haan all left Hampshire with silverware too. De Haan and Maurice Henry are this year’s Ginetta Junior Scholarship winners and they are racing with Millers Oils liveries on their cars.
