The 2022 Ginetta race season returns from its summer break this weekend with the Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and Ginetta Juniors heading north of the border to Knockhill in Scotland.
The 1.27 mile circuit, located in Fife, is one of the most popular on the calendar for drivers and fans, with its fast, undulating layout always serving up fantastic racing in Ginetta’s close fought one-make championships.
The GT4 SuperCup returns to the track after a seven week break with James Kellett firmly the driver to beat. A dominant performance over the first two rounds of the season has seen him sensationally take five wins from five races in his V8 powered Ginetta G56 GT4.
Reigning Ginetta Junior champion Aston Millar has started his maiden GT4 SuperCup campaign with a 100% podium record, while Tom Emson, Reece Somerfield and Henry Dawes have also picked up silverware.
The drivers on the GT4 SuperCup grid are split across four classes this year. Wes Pearce (G56 Am), Luke Reade (G55 Pro) and Ian Duggan (G55 Am) are the current points leaders in the different categories, having each recorded three class wins so far this season.
The Ginetta Juniors meanwhile are back in action for their fifth meeting of the season. Leading the grid of 14 to 17 year old racers heading into the weekend is Harri Reynolds, who took the points lead last time out at Croft with his seventh and eighth podium finishes of the campaign.
There’s only 14 points separating the top three in the standings at this stage. Will Macintyre, the top rookie of 2022 so far, launched himself into second overall thanks to a second win of the season last time out, while fellow double race-winner Josh Rowledge is in the mix too.
Sonny Smith became the latest new race-winner in the championship last time out, joining Ian Aguilera and Kanato Le in securing maiden victories this year. Amongst the other race win contenders this weekend will be Joe Warhurst, Liam McNeilly, Luke Watts and Aqil Alibhai.

Both championships will have a race televised live on Sunday afternoon on ITV4 and the ITV hub, while you can get updates across the weekend on social media by following @MillersOilsLtd.
